About me

City lit Awards 2023
I am the programme manager of the music department at The City Literary Institute, London, where I am also the current staff governor. I have an academic specialisation in the history of early music performance, and regularly contribute to Gramophone magazine and occasionally publish in various academic journals. I have lectured at King’s College London, Trinity College of Music, Dartington International Summer School, The Southbank Centre and The British Library; and written a small amount for BBC Television.

Studying David Munrow

I gained my PhD from King's College London in 2014 entitled The Performance Practice of David Munrow and the Early Music Consort of London: Medieval Music in the 1960s and 1970s and was supervised by Professors Daniel Leech-Wilkinson and Emma Dillon.

Running with Parkinson's

Please do sponsor me in the London Marathon if you can: Visit my individual London Marathon 2024 page. I was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2022 and this will be my first full marathon. I'm gradually compiling my marathon playlist which I'll listen to during the race.
